John Mayer was born on October 16, 1977 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He gained an early appreciation for music after his father gave him a tape of Stevie Ray Vaughan recordings. Mayer began to play the guitar, and soon made his way to the coffee houses of Atlanta. Mayer released his first album in 1999, and has released four albums since. Recently, he began to play with artists such as Guy, Clapton, BB King and Herbie Hancock, which led to the forthcoming change in style. Mayer has the talent and desire to create legendary blues music, so any fan of that genre should see it first-hand.
